Our Tambours on Channel 4’s ‘Amazing Spaces’

Our tambours have been featured in a unique van conversion on the popular Channel 4 programme, ‘Amazing Spaces’ with George Clarke.
In this episode, Norman and Jean from Birmingham have converted a hearse into a family camper van. We have seen lots of van conversion projects over the years, but this is the first time we have seen a hearse camper – and it works really well! The van was converted by VW Bus Werks, and this is probably the most eccentric van conversion we have seen to date.
The exterior of the vehicle is bright purple with orange accents and gothic wheel trims. The aptly-named ‘Reaper’ features a pull-out kitchen unit with gas powered stove and sink, pull-out double bed, and two additional bunk beds in the roof. Norman and Jane have also utilised space by using our tambours in an arched window style that are in keeping with the gothic style of the vehicle.
